Front zone: bounded by the centre line and the attack line; it extends beyond the sidelines to the end of the free zone.
Service zone: 9 m wide behind each end line, extending to the end of the free zone.
Substitution zone: between the extensions of both attack lines, next to the scorer’s table.
Libero replacement zone: part of the free zone on the team-bench side, between the attack line extension and the end line.
Warm-up areas and a penalty area (outside the control area, behind each bench) are also defined.
