Deliberately hitting the ball off the outside hand of the block so it deflects out of bounds — a point for the attacker.

- Read where the outside blocker’s hands are.
- Aim at the outside edge of the outside hand.
- Hit hard with a slight outward wrist turn, or "wipe" the ball off the hand toward the sideline.
