Can the serving team overlap?

Under the FIVB 2025–2028 rules, positional faults are judged on the receiving team; the serving team’s players (apart from the server, who must be in the service zone) have more freedom where they stand.

Many national, school and youth leagues still require both teams to be in rotation order — always check your competition’s rules.
